Join us at the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris for a two-day conference dedicated to exploring the intersection of genomics and conservation, with a particular focus on practical applications of genomics to immediate conservation needs. Participants and invited speakers include applied conservation practitioners, method developers, and genomics researchers.
There will be four sessions, all with opportunities for contributed presentations.
Session 1 will focus specifically on the practical applications of genomic information in informing on-the-ground conservation decisions.
Session 2 will focus on using genomics to make inferences about very recent population history, on time scales relevant for conservation applications. This session will include both theoretical and practical talks.
Session 3 will focus on the issue of evolutionary rescue, including inference of mutation load and genomic offsets.
Session 4 will focus on broader types of genomic data with relevance to conservation, including metagenomics and environmental DNA.
The conference aims to foster dialogue and encourage exchange of ideas across disciplines, especially between researchers and practitioners, and contributions from conservation managers and other applied practitioners are encouraged.
